Hi! I hope everyone had a good holiday break!
I like to keep it a little lighter after all of the holiday meals! So I would like to do a salad bar this month. The big tubs (Costco size) of mixed greens seem to be the most popular. As far as the veggies go, I’m not to set on any one particular kind – carrots, cucumber, mushrooms, cherry (or grape) tomatoes seem to be the favorites. I like to have hard boiled eggs and olives. Cubed up ham is also a popular choice but we don’t have to have a ton of it.
The dressings can be just normal sized bottles, every time we have a large or Costco size bottle of dressing it is never finished. Same with the croutons. Just the normal size bags that you can get at the grocery store are perfect.
I’m leaving the beverages up to you. The cans of sparkling water, ice tea and cans of coke seem to be the favorites. Of course just bottles of water are always good too.
I would also like to put a bug in everyone’s ear for the staff appreciation week in May. I would like to keep the tradition of having something for the staff everyday that week. The last few years I have had a huge catering event the 5th and 6th of may – which makes my staff appreciation week really difficult for me to put a lot of time and effort into. What I was hoping, was to find a few volunteers to head up each day of the week. That way it’s not too overwhelming for any one person. I will email more about this later, just wanted to throw it out there super early!
As always, thank you SO much for all you do! I love being able to spoil our staff – and after all the work, time and effort they put into our kids, they definitely deserve it!!

Show us your Grizzly spirit and enter for a chance to design this years Lake Youngs PTSA yearbook cover.
The theme for the 2018-2019 Lake Youngs’ PTSA yearbook is GRIZZLY PRIDE! We are on the search for someone who can describe, with art and creativity, what it means for them to be a Grizzly and how they see “The Grizzly Way” displayed all throughout our amazing school.
Lake Youngs PTSA will then choose the person’s artwork that best represents all of our wonderful students and school to be the cover art for the yearbook. If you aren’t an artist, you can include a nice saying or compliment for someone who has gone above and beyond to show “The Grizzly Way” here at Lake Youngs. Anyone from a teacher, front office staff, support staff or another student.
Submissions must be original artwork or photography taken around Lake Youngs. We discourage pencil or crayons as it is too subtle for the computer to pick up. No glitter or foil should be used. Art work should be submitted on art paper, cardstock or photo paper. No canvases or anything thicker will be accepted. No images or depictions of guns, alcohol, tobacco or drugs.
Submissions are due to Lake Youngs NO LATER than December 14th, 2018. You may turn them in to your teacher and they will be collected by PTSA.
Also, just a reminder yearbook order forms are due by December 17th.

Hi everyone! Happy December!
I want to do something a little different this month. With the holidays coming up, I thought it would be fun to have you bring in your favorite holiday dish. It can be an appetizer, a main dish or a dessert. It can be homemade or store bought. Whatever you and your family enjoys!
Just a couple of reminders. The only way to keep a dish warm is in a crockpot. I have a power strip that I bring and we can plug in 4 to 5 crockpots. If you bring a hot dish, please use a crockpot liner if possible.
It would be great if we could have a gluten free option as well. The staff that eats gluten free really appreciate it when they have something to eat too!
