Lake Youngs PTSA has several teams of people working all year long to make the magic happen! We are comprised of several yearlong committees as well as seasonal or special event committees. The Executive Committee is the elected body that governs and manages Lake Youngs PTSA as both community representatives and non-profit board members. Standing Committees meet, plan and operate our yearlong events and programs with the Executive Committee as our Board of Directors. We also support several Special Committees that plan and operate seasonal or special events and programs.

Art Docent is a wonderful, beloved PTSA supplemental program that brings Art Class back to school. Art Docents visit each classroom monthly to teach an art lesson and lead the kids in an art project. Docents are given step by step instructions from the Art Docent Chair for each art project at a monthly meeting. Ideally, there is a docent for each classroom. Supplies are provided by PTSA. You don't need to be a great artist to be a docent! At the end of the school year, the kids art is displayed at the Art Walk.

BOOK FAIR
Lake Youngs partners with Scholastic Books to hold 2-3 fairs a year, delivering a book store directly to the school, selling to students and their families. As a benefit, Lake Youngs PTSA receives 50% credit of fair sales in the form of Scholastic Dollars. Scholastic dollars help purchase books for the LY Library & classrooms as well as books for our Grizzly Reader Program. The Chairperson(s) is responsible for planning advertising and holding the fair(s) as well as coordinating volunteers and submitting financial reports. Volunteers are responsible for helping set up and tear down the fair, as well as working sales shifts during school hours and events. Volunteers may help out as little or as much as they choose.
